The historic Battery area is a must-see when visiting Charleston. One of our favorite things to do in Charleston is to rent bikes and just take in the incredible and historic architecture of the homes here. There are bike rental stations all throughout the downtown area that allow you to hop on and off and maybe enjoy a cocktail or bite to eat in-between exploring!
A group of 6 or 7 restaurants located right next to each other on picturesque Shem Creek. One the best spots to enjoy a drink and grab some food outside. We highly recommend Tavern & Table and Saltwater Cowboys!
For the history buff or for those who simply enjoy a good boat ride, a trip out to Fort Sumter is a must. With boats leaving from downtown Charleston, you will board a cruise that takes you out to the starting point of the Civil War and gives you a guided tour of the Fort and some great historical facts about the Holy City.
Our favorite beach in Charleston, Sullivan's Island is a charming, Southern beach town with quaint restaurants and a few shops. It's worth renting a couple of bikes and riding around just looking at the homes. Be sure to stop in at Poe's (named after Edgar Allan Poe who once lived/was stationed there) for a drink and burger or Hometeam for some barbeque and one of their frozen cocktails!
Grab a coffee and walk the iconic Ravenel Bridge. With a great walking path for pedestrians and a bike lane, it is one of the best ways to take in the views of the Charleston Harbor.
This is our go-to special occasion restaurant that features incredible seafood dishes and local, farm-to-table cuisine. Located in an old, renovated bank building, the atmosphere there is not to be missed! Be sure to make a reservation in advance.
Grab a drink and take in some of the best views of the Holy City!
Funky and fun spot to indulge in some creative craft cocktails with indoor and rooftop seating.
A luxurious, all-pink Champagne bar located in Hotel Bennett that is simply gorgeous. Definitely one of the more "instagrammable" places in all of Charleston.
Our absolute favorite bar to go out to and also the location of our first date and where we got engaged! A true, local spot with the best live music in all of Charleston! 10/10 would recommend heading that way after dinner and some cocktails!
Incredible place to grab lunch or dinner. A local staple with delicious, local food and a laid-back atmosphere. Be sure to make a reservation if you plan on wanting to eat here!
A neighborhood brewery with great craft beer and rooftop seating with views of downtown Charleston.
A fantastic restaurant that serves breakfast/brunch every day of the week! Grab one of their amazing bloody Mary's and a Southern breakfast here especially if you may have had a little too much "sauce" the night before!
If you plan on renting a car, an afternoon trip out to Kiawah to see the famous Ocean Course is a great activity! You can have lunch at the Player's Club right on the golf course that just hosted the PGA Championship in 2021. You MUST stop and see the iconic Angel Oak tree if you decide to go to Kiawah Island. The oldest Oak tree this side of the Mississippi, it truly is a marvel to see.
