When making a "Wedding Website" they tell you to share how the both of you met... Well for the two of us you'd have to travel back to high school. Since Joelle and I shared the same hobbies, we started to see each other more and more around Depew High School from competing in indoor and outdoor track to ski club. Then that next football season she was wearing my Football Jersey on Friday nights. Our first "Date" was at the movies, after everyone but the two of us bailed. (Maybe it was a set up?) Then a couple weeks later we made it Facebook official after going to Shakespeare in the park. Now at this point I think we were both 16?! Now fast forward 7 years, the pandemic happens, Joelle is in her most stressful final years of graduate school, and I think to myself, yes now is the time to bug Joelle and drag her to a Jewelry store. So we went to pick out a ring and I told Joelle "since we picked out the ring so close to valentine's day everything is back ordered and the ring isn't going to come in for a whole 6 months.". You should have seen her face when three weeks later I was on one knee in our favorite brewery "Rusty Nickel". So when people ask why there? and why then? Well, it’s simple, we had our old group of high school friends around us. The ones we went to football games with, ran track with, had Friday night poker games with, and everyone that has been there since the beginning of our relationship. So to wrap this up.... When I am standing at the altar, watching Joelle eventually walk down the aisle at Yodeler lodge, on what will hopefully be a warm September evening, just know I might look at the ski lift thinking to myself... just 8 years ago I was telling Joelle how I'll beat her down the hill and one more run and she can go warm up at the lodge and now we are going to Yodeler to share our vows and spend the rest of our lives together.
