Dearest Reader, This story begins in the year of 2013, when a Lord named Boguslaw met a Lady named Joanna. Whilst their first encounters were across a portal for diamonds seeking love, the gentleman soon found the courage to invite the young lady to coffee-- despite the Lord's distaste for the beverage. The encounter was scandalous as the evening lasted well into the night and ended with a meeting of lips that nearly caused Lady Joanna to swoon into Lord Boguslaw's arms in the Dark Walk. Lady Joanna predicted a proposal was in her future that evening. The ton was skeptical of the match due to the Lord's primary residence being in Poland and the Lady holding residence in Chicago. For three years, the dashing blade and the ripe debutante exchanged correspondence with notes of love and hopes for an intertwined future. Being completely and entirely drawn in, the beau ended his courtship with a proposal for Lady Joanna's hand in marriage. The engagement had to be short- not only because of their burning love for one another, but due to the national crown's short deadline for the nuptials to be exchanged to approve Lord Boguslaw's new residency in the young lady's town. Vows were exchanged in 2016. Whilst the couple planned to hold an elaborate event for the ton to attend within a year's time, faith had other plans. Tragedy hit, one facer after another, trying to push the lovebirds under the hatches and apart from each other. Sorrows, sorrows, prayers. Through it all, Lord Boguslaw and Lady Joanna grew closer, grew stronger. As the social season grows near, the couple has announced their pending nuptials in a grand affair true to Polish tradition.
