We're getting married!

As most of you know, Gio and I met in High School! After countless hours on AOL Instant Messenger (we still remember our usernames) and seeing each other out, we made it official. After we had both graduated, we made our way to Austin where we'd spend the next 4 years. High's and low's, thick and thin, we always found a way back to each other and keep growing together every day.

Gio could not have picked a better location to propose! Believe it or not, even after dating for as long as we have, I was still completely shocked when it happened and definitely blacked out for a few seconds. Thankfully our loved ones were there documenting the whole thing. Coincidentally, we were very close to celebrating my 30th birthday, so the surprise stay at Hotel Zaza in the museum district was easily disguised as an early birthday celebration. I should have known something was up when just 5 minutes after room service arrived I was told to get ready for dinner. En route to "dinner", we stopped by James Turrell Skyspace, a mesmerizing outdoor structure at Rice University. Walking through the underpass, holding hands, we stepped into the atrium and it was there Gio got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
