We strongly recommend staying at one of the cabins listed under the Travel page. These are all pre-selected comfortable, luxurious cabins that house a large number of guests and are within 10 minutes from the Lodge, where the welcome party, ceremony, and celebration will be held. To select a cabin click "view" underneath the description and you will be taken to the website for booking. If you'd like to stay at a hotel or inn, we have links to the closest options on that same Travel page as well.
We recommend drivers drop off friends and family at the Lodge and then park at the municipal Golf Course. We have a driver who will then take you from the Municipal Golf Course to the Lodge, where the main events will be held. Directions to the Municipal Golf Course can be found under the "Things to Do" page. The muncipal golf course at lake lure is about half a mile from the lodge (where the welcome party and ceremony are held). It is about a 2 minute drive. We also recommend using the Uber and Lyft drivers who will be coming up the mountain to help ferry guests from cabins to the Lodge. Some of the hotels and inns also provide transportation for their guests. Finally, there is parking at the Lodge itself, but it is limited and will most likely fill up very quickly.
We will have gluten free and vegetarian options for guests with dietary restrictions.
Yes! Any of the guests staying at the cabins will be a short trip to the lake and can go swimming. There is also a public beach by the Rumbling Bald.
We will be serving food and cocktails for the Welcome Party on Friday night (please see Schedule tab) as well as immediately following the ceremony (as well as before - the open bar is serving drinks from 6-10). The Ingles grocery store is close to all the Cabins, which all have large kitchen and dining areas for meals outside the events. Many of the hotels and inns provide breakfast as well. There are also a number of restaurant options nearby.
Of course! There will be an open bar for two hours on Friday June 5th during the Welcome Party, serving beer and wine. Then there will be another open bar Saturday June 6th for four hours, serving beer, wine, liquor, and mixed drinks from 6-10pm.
Of course! Many of the cabin options are pet friendly. However, some aren't. When you find a cabin, or place to stay under our Travel page, click the "view" button where you will be taken to their website so you can see if that location is pet friendly or not.
We are currently trying to pick a date to reschedule the wedding. As of now, we are unable to reschedule due to the venue being closed because of COVID-19. The most likely scenario is that the wedding will be pushed forward a year to the summer of 2021. We will update the website as soon as we can pick a new date.
