After many talks, we have decided to move forward with our August 29th wedding. This is the only celebration we will have. We've been in constant communication with our venue, The Stave Room, where both ceremony & reception will take place. The Stave Room has ensured us that safety precautions are in place & they are following guidelines enforced by the state of Georgia. We understand that many of you fear the uncertainty & worry about your safety when it comes to traveling, public spaces, & social gatherings. Don’t forget how much we love each & every one of you. We understand should you not be able to attend. We know you will make the decisions that are best for you & your loved ones. We want everyone to have peace knowing that we will be taking EXTREME caution to ensure this event will be safe, so we can have our loved ones attend. Please reach out to myself, Carter, Lisa Stalica, or Nancy Pritchard should you need to change your plans on attendance or to express your concerns. Masks & hand sanitizer will be provided at the venue, along with other safety measures that The Stave Room, our caterer, & all vendors will practice **Whether you're with us or not, we implore you to be safe & use masks, wash your hands & use wise social caution as much as you can. We hope you will be especially intent on your safety & ours as we count down to our wedding gathering. We trust that if you have any doubt of exposure, you will let us know & we will support your plan to heal and not infect anyone.** We know God has had this plan far before COVID-19 happened, before we were engaged, & way before we were born. “Fear is from the ENEMY not from the Lord.” August 29th is our wedding date, regardless of what this pandemic may or may not unveil. This day may not include ALL of our loved ones & may not be filled with all the visions we had originally, but we know our hearts will be filled with the same love & happiness, as if COVID-19 was non-existent. Having some of the same friends while we were both attending the University of Alabama wasn't a good enough reason for us to meet; but thanks intramural kickball, that's where we got introduced! Carter and I graduated from UofA and eventually both ended up in Birmingham, AL. Not being familiar with the area, my best friend and I were recruited to play kickball. Carter and I met at one of our games and we continued to be friendly throughout our (2016 championship) season. Both being in relationships (ish) at the time, we we hung out regularly within our friend group. About a year later, summer of 2017 and both single, I took matters into my own hands to make it obvious that I was interested in him. After claiming he “ordered too much Chinese takeout,” he invited me over to his house and we indulged on the greatness that is Chen Express and watched the NBA playoffs. After a couple of weeks of more sushi dates & brewery hangouts, we made the relationship official. Which brings us to where we are now! Fast forward 2 years later, Carter BRILLIANTLY tricked me on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2019 by proposing immediately after I walked in his house. Screaming & sobbing “ARE YOU SURE” about 5 times was enough for him to know, that was considered my YES. We are ready to claim FOREVER and couldn't be happier to have all of our favorite people attend our special day. We wouldn't be who we are without the love, prayers, and constant support from family and friends. BRING ON AUGUST!
