Daniel and Jenay met in 2018 on the Disney Wonder while working for Disney Cruise Line. When Jenay embarked on the Disney Wonder with her cast as a MainStage performer, Daniel had just settled into his first week as an automation operator in the Walt Disney Theatre. They were both part of the entertainment department spreading pixies dust and Disney magic. They started texting on the company issued wave phone, which was akin to T9 texting in early 2000's. Most texts consisted of "pizza?" and they would go to deck 9 to chat and eat pizza under the stars. Daniel and Jenay quickly became friends while on the ship and very much enjoyed each other's company. They would get meals together, hang out after shows at crew events, and occasionally have a chance to hang out in port. When in Alaska they went on an excursion to a dog mushing training camp! Daniel would have to debark the ship before Jenay, yet they continued to talk almost every day despite the Alaska to Scotland time zone difference. Daniel offered to come visit Jenay on the ship while on his vacation and flew 4000 miles to see her. This trip is what made it clear that there was a connection more than just friends between Jenay and Daniel.

The only request Jenay had for her propsal is that it had nothing to do with Disney, ESPECIALLY not on the ship. With that in mind Jenay was not expecting to be proposed to until after they both finished their contract on th Disney Wish at the end of 2022. But Daniel had other plans. He had a ring hidden away in the tiny cabin they were living in and was waiting for the perfect opportunity off of the the ship. Conveniently, they had a night were they were not allowed on the ship and Daniel took advantage of this opportunity. He booked the nicest hotel in Groningen, Netherlands and told Jenay he wanted to take her on a fancy date night. She happily spent the day shopping and get dressed up for her perfect date night. Little did she know that Daniel was going to surprise her on the balcony with a sapphire engangement ring (her birthstone)! In tears and unable to speak, Jenay nodded yes and they went off to celebrate with the most beautiful nine course tasting menu Groningen had to offer.
