FAQs

If you have any questions other than the ones we've listed here, kindly email jazmyneandjamal@gmail.com. We may miss your text messages.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly request that you RSVP to the invites no later than Friday, October 27th, 2023. The invites will be sent out by mid to late September. If you plan to book through the hotel blocks, we recommend securing your room as soon as possible. *Update 9/4/2023 - All rooms at the Thompson have been booked and we are requesting to open another block of rooms. If you desire a room at the Thompson Hotel, please email jazmyneandjamal@gmail.com.*

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! "Dress to Impress" theme—formal cocktail attire. "Dress to Impress" means wearing your favorite formal outfits that make you feel like the best version of yourselves. Dress better than us; we invite you! Suits and stylish shoes, fancy floor-length or cocktail dresses, dressy pantsuits, and fun or bold color accents are all accepted. Please, no jeans, shorts, or tennis shoes.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

No, while we love little ones, this is an adults-only event. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We're so sorry, we were intentional in our invites and are not able to accommodate your plus one. Thank you for understanding.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please email us at jazmyneandjamal@gmail.com to give us a heads-up. We will try our best to accommodate all food allergies or lifestyle preferences. There will be no sit-down dinner - only food stations and hors d'oeuvres throughout the evening, so you will have some flexibility.

Question

Do I need to stay at the Thompson Hotel?

Answer

No, it is only where the reception will be taking place. We have a room block at the Thompson Hotel. We also have other hotel options listed in "Travel + Hotel," or you can book an Airbnb or stay with family and friends.

Question

If I decide to drive to the reception, will I need to pay for parking?

Answer

Yes - our reception venue is in the heart of Washington, D.C. There is a hotel valet, paid street parking, and a parking garage nearby. If possible, we recommend taking public transportation or ride-share. If you drive and stay in a different neighborhood, we recommend leaving your car there and taking a ride-share to the reception.

Question

What do you mean by "private ceremony"?

Answer

A private ceremony is attended by a smaller number of people. We always envisioned a personal and intimate ceremony for our special day. We're grateful for your love and support, and we can't wait to celebrate with you during our evening reception.

Question

Will there be transportation provided for the private ceremony?

Answer

Yes. We HIGHLY recommend taking the transportation that we will provide from the Thompson Hotel. We will provide the pick-up to and from the ceremony, so if you are staying elsewhere, you must arrange to meet at the transportation pick-up. You may take ride-shares or drive directly to the ceremony. There is no free or paid parking near the ceremony (a .25-.5mi walk at least), so plan ample time to not jeopardize missing the ceremony. If you require walking assistance, we recommend taking the bus pick-up from the Thompson Hotel.
