Travel Note

ETIAS - IMPORTANT

ETIAS is a new travel requirement designed to enhance the security in France. The system aims to pre-screen travelers and ensure they do not pose a security risk. Beginning early 2025, you will be required to apply for the online ETIAS visa waiver to enter France. This applies for US, UK, and Canadian passport holders. Each traveler will be required to fill out this application. The application form for ETIAS France is completely digital. This means that you can complete all parts of the form online, without having to fill in any physical paperwork. It is essential to understand that ETIAS France is not a visa. It is a visa waiver that facilitates visa-free entry for certain nationalities. We recommend applying online for ETIAS at least 30 days before departure to prevent delays. You will receive an ETIAS status update of Approved, Refused, or Manual Processing within 96 hours of submission. ETIAS is valid for up to 3 years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. The application has a fee of €7 per traveler. It is also important to review the visa requirements for any additional countries you may plan to visit during your trip. ** Note: The application is still not available online yet. We will send out an email to inform you all once the application is available. **

Rental Car

Rental Cars / Taxis / Ubers

Rental Cars: Paris offers a variety of rental car service providers, including international brands such as Hertz, Avis, and Europcar, and local companies like Ada and Sixt. Rentals can be arranged online in advance or at rental counters located at airports, train stations, and downtown areas. Before renting, it's important to review terms and conditions regarding insurance, fuel policies, age policies, and additional fees. Uber: Uber is widely used and accessible in Paris. However, we recommend calling an XL if you have lots of luggage, as cars in France can be quite small! Taxis: Traditional Taxis: Look for designated taxi stands throughout the city, or hail a passing cab with an illuminated rooftop sign. While traditional taxis provide convenient door-to-door service, they can be pricier and may have limited availability during peak hours. Taxi Apps and Services: Several taxi apps operate in Paris, providing an alternative to traditional taxis. Apps like G7, LeCab, and Bolt allow you to book rides, track your driver's location, and pay electronically. Some apps even offer features like upfront pricing estimates and driver ratings for added convenience and transparency.
