The story of Jarred and Jasmine is really a story of how well the community around them supports them. In being there for their close friends and family, both of them had prior engagements on Saturday July 11th, 2020. These fortuitous circumstances turned out serendipitous for our couple. That Saturday, Jarred volunteered to host a cookout for a family friend who was in town for the weekend celebrating his birthday. Jarred invited his neighbor, Toni Jenkins, over to grab a plate. Meanwhile, Jasmine was visiting another birthday boy, Princeton Richardson, in the same neighborhood as Jarred and Toni. While visiting Princeton, Jasmine ran into Toni, whom she also knew very well. When the evening started winding down, Toni invited Jasmine to a second party nearby. Ironically, it was the home of our soon to be groom. Jasmine along with four other ladies, including Toni, walked around the corner to Jarred’s home. When Jasmine entered Jarred’s home, she immediately assumed a couple lived there because the house was so well decorated. When Jasmine walked up the stairs into Jarred’s kitchen, Jarred immediately set his eyes on Jasmine. They greeted one another and Jarred joked on how Jasmine’s parents must be smart to name her the same name as his sister (Jasmine Eldridge). Well, it turns out that Jasmine was with two other ladies named Jasmine that evening. Jarred had to find another way to compliment her, so he told her how much he loved her hair. Jarred blew Jasmine and the group away with his amazing barbecue skills. After barbecue, it was time for karaoke where Jarred could make his ultimate move. He sang R&B songs and made sure to mention Jasmine’s name in the slow jam (Song: Cupid-112) while singing to her. While others performed, they caught a slow dance (Song: This is for the lover in you-Shalamar) in which Jarred literally swept her off her feet. Jarred and Jasmine continued to dance with each other all night resulting in them literally dancing the night away. It was a magical night that ultimately resulted in a fateful evening. As the song says, “and we danced and fell in love on a slow jam”. The couple have happily been together since their lucky night, 7/11.
