MASS MoCA
We have discounted MASS MoCA tickets for the whole weekend! Just tell the front desk that you are in town for Jarrett and Julia's wedding. We highly recommend exploring the James Turrell and Laurie Anderson exhibitions, both in Building 6 (where our wedding will be held!), as well as Anselm Keifer in Building 15. Turrell's "Perfectly Clear" and Anderson's "Chalkroom" are two of our favorite works at the museum - if you're interested in seeing them, make sure to check the MASS MoCA website for time slots! They are only viewable by reservation (and while Perfectly Clear is pretty easy to get same-day slots for if you ask a gallery attendant, Chalkroom is often booked solid on weekends). For those with young children, there are some fun things specifically for them as well! Ask the front desk about museum scavenger hunts, or check out Kidspace (Building 10) for some arts and crafts.
Hiking & Leaf Peeping
Mid-October is the perfect time of year for colorful foliage, and this area is especially beautiful. While certainly not the only park nearby, we would recommend checking out Mt. Greylock State Reservation - it has the highest peak in MA! There are trails ranging from sweaty all-dayers to strolls and drive-up views, so we highly encourage everyone to get out and explore. We recommend using the app AllTrails to see what options look appealing on any given day, or ask us for suggestions! We will be picking a hike to do on Friday 10/11 (weather permitting) for anyone who is in the area a day early - stay tuned for details!
