We have a group promotional code for our wedding room block at Hotel Monville. Hotel Monville is a short walk from the wedding festivities and it is where the wedding party and their family will be staying. The hotel has a bar, lounge, and is the hosting venue for the Welcome Party on Thursday night, June 30. The discount code is good for an extended stay for any number of nights between June 26 - July 4, 2022. Our discount rate guarantees the rate but not hotel availability. If you do not see availability for Hotel Monville please reach out to reservations@hotelmonville.com and inform them you are part of our wedding - the concierge will give you options for all of their sister properties in the immediate downtown area. Jackie and Jared have had great experiences in Montreal at other places such as AirBnBs, Le Westin, and Le Sheraton. "Downtown" and the Old Port are the neighborhoods within closest proximity to wedding events. However, Ubers are accessible in the city, so other neighborhoods with close proximity will offer great places to stay. Please allow extra travel time due to Canada Day on July 1, Ubers may be more scarce than usual.
Travel Note
Don't forget your passport! Passports take a minimum of 12 weeks to process so plan accordingly! Check the expiration year on your Passport. It cannot expire within less than 6 months of your trip. If you are traveling from the US, you will need several things to cross the border under the current COVID protocols: 1. Proof of vaccination (show your physical or digital card at the border crossing / airport). If you aren't vaccinated, and are not a Canadian citizen, they will not let you into the country. 2. Anything you need to know about the current border requirements from the US to Canada can be found here: https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada Montreal is about a 45 minute flight or 5 hour drive from Boston. Flights can be expensive so book early or opt for a road trip! Most US cellular providers carry into Canada quite easily (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T.) It is always best to call your provider and ask for their international data options when planning a trip. This will come in handy for things like Ubers and maps while out and about in the city! Canada has the same power outlets as the US so no need for converters. For those of you planning on packing the car with goods, make sure to check the limit for bringing alcohol/tobacco over the border: "1.5 liters of wine, or 1.14 liters (40 ounces) of liquor, or 24 cans or bottles of beer. 1 carton (200 cigarettes), up to 50 cigars, and 200g of loose tobacco" The Canadian Dollar is generally a favorable conversion from USD. Simply put, you will get a bit more bang for your buck in Quebec compared to cost of goods in the US.
Travel Note
Ubers/Lyfts are very accessible if you choose to ride share to our wedding events, however please note that wait times may be longer due to the holiday on July 1. All of our wedding events are walkable from Hotel Monville and their sister properties, where we have a block of discounted rooms.
Travel Note
July 1 is Canada Day - Canada's equivalent of our 4th of July. Expect there to be a lot of excitement the morning of July 1 with a parade through town and fireworks over Old Port at night! With this said, book your accommodations ASAP. Please also be aware that many liquor stores are closed on Canada Day (July 1) so be sure to stock up upon your arrival for any beverage needs you may have before our wedding festivities begin that evening.
