There is so much to do and see in OB! For coffee, try Aalia's or Toccopuro. Ride on 'America's Oldest Carousel'. Enjoy pizza and local beer at Offshore Ale. Walk through the Campgrounds to see the decorative 'Gingerbread Houses'. Have a mudslide on the harbor at Nancy's or Sand Bar. If you want to be a local, stop by Coop de Ville, or for late night shenanigans head to the Ritz (no, not that Ritz).
Edgartown is a quintessential New England whaling town. Start your day with coffee and breakfast at Rosewater Market or Among the Flowers. Shop at Salte, Slate, and Ethos. Grab an afternoon beer and pizza at Bad Martha's Brewery or for a view of the water head to Seafood Shanty. For dinner, make reservations at Bettini, Covington (our favorite), or Alchemy. And for late night live music try Port Hunter!
Menemsha is a small fishing village "up-island". Many of the scenes from 'Jaws' were filmed here! You can get a lobster roll at our favorite spot, Larsen's Fish Market, check out the art galleries, or get a sweatshirt from Menemsha Blues. And if you go in the evening, you'll catch the best sunset on the island.
Open Wednesdays & Saturdays 9 am - 12 pm rain or shine. There are so many farms on the island! This is a great way to support the local farmers, fishers, and food vendors. Hint, hint
A worthwhile museum for kids and adults! You can spend 1 hour or the whole afternoon here. Open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm.
One of the most iconic views on the island. Stop by to tour the historic lighthouse, peruse craft stores, or grab a bite on the cliffs.
'Chappy' is an island off of Martha's Vineyard. Take the 1 minute ferry from Edgartown to this peninsula (and occasional tiny island) and explore the least developed area of MV. It has many beautiful beaches, nature reserves, a Japanese garden - Mytoi, and a golf course. It has only one paved road and a small shop in a house that sells a few necessities, but not much else so bring everything you need: water, picnic/food, drinks, sunscreen, etc!
There are hiking and biking trails throughout the island! Sheriff's Meadow and All Trails are both great resources. You can rent bikes in Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, or Edgartown.
