Both of us were on the dating app Coffee meets Bagel. Josh was the first one to "swipe right." He thought Jillana looked beautiful in her photos and read her profile. When he saw that she loved to act and perform he had to match with her and ask her about it. Jillana had just started online dating in NYC and was overwhelmed by the dating pool. She decided that she had to focus on school instead, but one match caught her eye. A handsome man who clearly had a great sense of humor. Instead of the usual "Hey" he took the time to ask her about herself. From then on they had great conversations, and talked on the phone. Their first date was at Bareburger in NYC. Jillana tried to sneak up on Josh but he recognized her right away.

Jillana had been dead set on getting a dog. Josh thought it might be a better idea to wait. They tried to get one through a rescue, but to no success. When the perfect time for them came, they went to the rescue again, and to Jillana's dismay, they did not get to even pet a dog. They went to the puppy store to "just look." Josh warned her that if they went in, they would come out with a dog. And when little Buttercup kept watching them through the glass she stole their hearts. She has been a part of their little family ever since.
