Heres to forever

John was in his last year of his bachelor's degree, looking for online friends with a busy schedule. Brittany had had a slew of bad dates and had sworn off men for the year, and just wanted someone to talk to who she didn't feel like she was on display for. What came after was two years of daily contact and multiple cross country flights. She has since promised to always keep cookie dough on hand in the freezer, and he has promised to always change the oil in her car.

On January 22nd 2023, John and Brittany were at Disneyland enjoying as much as two kids can. It was an insanely busy day, with hour long waits on every ride. Near midday, Brittany had had enough of the crowds and needed a little breathing room. The two took a barge to Pirate's Layer and took a stroll around the island, as Brittany recounted memories that may or may not be real from her few times in the more forgotten attraction. Afterword, John asked to take a ride on the almost completely empty Mark Twain River Boat, to maintain a sense of calm during the chaotic post lunch rush. The two found themselves almost completely alone at the bow of the boat, a few couples on either side. John stepped away, saying he wanted a picture from the upper deck. He handed his phone to a nearby cast member and asked her to record his proposal. He returned and gave a heartfelt speech, which ended with him on one knee and tears running down Brittany's face. With a yes and a kiss, the couple behind them clapped and John received his phone back. The newly engaged couple celebrated with cotton candy and an ice-cream chipwich. Later they shared a glass of wine and a beer and the best plate of garlic fries either has ever had.
