We met through a mutual friend I went to school with in Florida. We started talking in February of 2018. But things got real when we decided to meet in person March of 2018. I drove 3 and a half hours to meet a guy in Georgia. I got a hotel room for the weekend in his town and started getting ready for our date. He picked me up at the hotel and we went out for dinner. After dinner we went to the fair that comes into town every year. We walked around and went on the ferris wheel. Afterwards he dropped me off back at my room and told me good night. It was a perfect and simple first date! Since I was there for the weekend he picked me up the next morning and brought me back to his moms’ house where he was still living. He cooked me a breakfast feast. Oh and I met his entire family! Only after a few hours after meeting him for the first time. It was the best and I wouldn't have it any other way! After that I had to drive the 3 and a half hours back home. I continued to drive back to Georgia about once a month for the year and 2 months we were together before I moved in. Check out that story below!!
If you thought how we met was a crazy weekend get ready for this one! It started with my college graduation Saturday, May 4th 2019. After graduation my parents, Reed and I drove to Georgia to move me in with him. That night we celebrated my graduation with both of our families, who were meeting for the first time. His moms booked an escape room for Reed and I as my "gift" for the next day. Skip to the next day. I was unpacking all my things and trying to settle in to my new home and spend some time with my parents. It was getting time for us to go to our Escape Room, which one of his sisters worked at during this time. Reed was trying to get me to change out of my sweatshirt and yoga pants. I started to think something was up, so I changed. We were in such a hurry I forgot my phone at home. We get to the room and are locked in. Now it was up to us to solve all the clues and get out. Once we got locked in I completely forgot about having to change and thinking Reed was up to something, I was too focused on trying to win. We get to the second to last clue which involved math so I took over. I crack the code and opened a mini door. As I do I see a ring pop, watermelon of course! And instantly I knew what was happening. I turn around and see Reed kneeling with my actual ring. I start to figure out that his and my family are all outside, some were in the room recording us and taking pictures. It was all a whirlwind of emotions. His sister, who was in charge of the room, then tells us we still need to get out. I thought we were gonna get a free pass and just get to leave, nope! So our timer starts and we finish the last clue. We get out of the room and are greeted by our family. The only one that couldn't be there was my sister, she was pregnant and couldn't fly down for all the excitement. So I used my dad’s phone to call her since I left mine at home. She almost didn't answer. Luckily she did and I got to show off my ring. It was the best surprise ever!!
