A great spot to get out and stretch your legs on the drive from Denver to Breck! It is only about 0.75 miles to the lake, but you can hike farther if you'd like. Most of the hike in is on an incline. They do require $5 cash for parking.
We LOVE this spot, their cocktails are phenomenal! This is a good stop on your drive between Denver and Breck, but they only have hours on Friday-Sunday.
This road is right off of 70 on your drive in or out.. or if you want to backtrack! The byway is 28 miles long and takes about one hour. It brings you up a 14,000ft mountain, The road is $10/vehicle.
A scenic drive up a mountain pass that brings you to 11,990 feet... If you're wanting the views without the hiking effort! It is about a 40 minute drive from Breckenridge, passing Keystone and Arapahoe Basin Ski Resorts, to the summit of the pass. There's a parking lot at the top if you want to get out and snap some pics! You could also hit this road on your way to or from Denver. It is a very windy road lacking guard rails!
Take a free gondola ride from town to the base of Breckenridge Ski Resort... You can grab lunch or a drink at the base of the mountain!
This is one of our favorite hikes, and great for visitors! The trail head is about a 30 minute drive from Breck. The hike is a little under 3 miles round trip to the basin where the mining ruins are, but you can go further if you're feeling up to it! The hike to the mining ruins is a slow 900 ft. of elevation gain.
If you drive 15 minutes South out of Breck on Highway 9, you end up at the summit of Hoosier Pass. From here, you can park and hike a 2.8 mile loop for some high elevation views!
A 20 minute drive South from Breck... even the parking lot is beautiful! You can just hang out right by the lake, or hike and wonder around. There is a one mile Blue Lakes Trail, or you can also access the 2.8 mile Monte Cristo Gulch Trail from this parking lot.
A bit more challenging hike, but beautiful as well! This one has two lakes, and is 6.7 miles round trip with 1,810ft elevation gain.
If you're itching to get a 14er under your belt ;) This is a VERY challenging hike! 6.75 miles round trip with 3,450ft elevation gain. You'll need lots of water, food, and layers! Please let us know if you'd like to do this one, and we'll give you some more tips!

They offer pontoon boats, sailboats, SUPs, and kayaks. They are located on Lake Dillon, which is a 25 minute drive from Breckenridge. Bonus: the Tiki Bar is right next door!
Probably the most popular hike in Colorado, for good reason! This hike is 1.2 miles straight up to waterfalls with the brightest blue waters you've ever seen! You do need to reserve a permit ahead of time to do this one, $12pp.
Relax in some river side hot spring pools, about an hour 45 minute drive from Breck! These springs are in Glenwood Springs, another cute little mountain town to explore!
About 1.5 hour drive from Breck... Turtle Tubing will meet you with tubes that fit 2-4 people to float down the river for about 2 hours.. more of a lazy river! They will meet you at the take out spot to bus you back to your cars! BYOB!
If you're looking to float down the river with a bit more excitement! It is a beautiful one hour and 20 minute drive to Buena Vista for some of the best white water rafting!

These guys make amazing cocktails! They also offer inexpensive tours. Great spot for lunch, but difficult to go here for dinner with large groups, or without a reservation.
