FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kelly Beyer and Jim Michaels
If you have any questions other than what we've listed here, please reach out to our parents or us directly.
Question

What if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! We understand there may be other obligations or those who are unable to travel on our day. If you cannot attend please RSVP "will not attend" as soon as possible so that we may plan accordingly.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have hotel blocks available at Hotel Lincoln and Viceroy Chicago and provided other options in the area for your convenience. Visit our Hotels section to book. Both blocks are first come first serve. If no rooms in either block are left, you'll need to book outside of the block or at another hotel.

Question

Are my children invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is an adults-only event so that our guests can fully relax and be present throughout the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so you can celebrate with us!

Question

Is there transportation to/from the venue?

Answer

We will not be providing transportation as rideshare services and cabs are abundant in Chicago. The hotels on our Hotels page are a short walk or car ride away from the venue. Your hotel concierge can assist with cabs if needed!

Question

Does the venue have self or valet parking?

Answer

Our venue will not have parking on the premises for guests. We recommend utilizing the self or valet parking at your hotel. The hotels we've suggested are all a short walk or car ride from our venue.

Question

Can I take photos?

Answer

Please be mindful that we are having an unplugged ceremony (no phones or cameras). The greatest gift you can give us is being fully present while we say "I do". We have hired very talented professionals to capture these special moments and promise to share our photos as soon as we can. Feel free to snap as many pictures as you like at our reception!

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We have addressed your invitation to those included in our headcount. Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those formally listed on your invitation. If you received a plus one your guest will appear under your name when you RSVP - please make sure to RSVP both for yourself and your guest.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We respectfully ask guests to dress in formal/black tie optional attire. Wear any color you like, but we kindly ask women to refrain from wearing white or cream.

Question

Is the wedding indoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will take place indoors. The cocktail hour will be held in a loggia connected to the Great Hall of our venue. There will be heaters but as unpredictable as the Midwest weather can be, we highly recommend guests bring a warm jacket. Coat check will be provided.

Question

Is the venue handicap accessible?

Answer

Our venue has an elevator and handicap accessible restrooms for guests who may need it.

Question

What time is the wedding?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 5PM followed by a cocktail hour and reception.
