Maid of Honor
How I know Jenny: I’m her little sister! A favorite memory we have together: it’s so hard to choose because so many of my favorite memories involve Jenny! One of the best ones though is playing with Barbies for hours in the basement every summer when we were kids. What I’m excited for at the wedding: I’m just excited to see Jenny and Jake have a joy-filled day as they celebrate their love!
Best Man
Andrew Banker here. Jake and I know each other from camp. Our connection used to be hierarchical since I was his "mentor" and blah blah blah. So glad to be done with that phase. Now I'm just a blubbering fellow human with him. Now we stare at leaves in silence and worry about our relationships with our phones together. He's a one-of-a-kind friend, has seen me at my lowest(s), been willing to brave sharing his own true heart, and is absolutely chosen family to me. A favorite memory of mine is always my most recent interaction with him. I think some of his other friends are more capable of exciting experiences than I have let myself be. I like the first 5 minutes of hanging out with Jake where we don't really interact much at all, just letting each other settle into the moment, smile, close eyes if needed, and breathe. We have plans though. Our 40s are gonna be wild. The fact that Jake has seen me and my marriage so up close and has still chosen someone to likewise weather life with is testimony to the specialness of both him and Jenny. They are beautiful, kind, open, and humble people. I'm excited to see their understanding and honesty grow in the sunlight of love together. All the love to you both!

Jenny has been one of my closest friends throughout middle school, high school, and even to this day! We met before we can even remember in Sunday school and became friends during our Littlest Pet Shop and brightly colored eyeliner phase. One of my favorite recent memories with Jenny is when I got to introduce her to my son Zealand and we all spent time in the beautiful Como Zoo Conservatory. A favorite older memory I have with Jenny became an annual tradition when the springtime flowers bloomed. She would carry her camera around the neighborhood and make me and a couple other friends feel like absolute supermodels next to the beautiful floral trees. (Bonus memory: Jenny got to witness a pretty strange sleepwalking experience of mine during one of our sleepovers!) Honestly, I’m so excited for all the happy tears at Jenny and Jake's wedding. I’ll certainly be crying. My best friend gets to experience one of the most amazing blessings life has to offer! I’m getting emotional already!

Jake and I have known each other since we were wee lads, crossing paths and sharing life experiences in homeschool co-op and church-adjacent youth programs. Our friendship didn’t truly germinate until later in highschool, though. We started hanging out, geeking about Dostoesvky and Tolstoy books, and going on delightful (and sometimes irresponsible) adventures. I am thoroughly grateful to know Jake, and for the years of seeing both him and our friendship grow. A favorite memory with Jake is really a series of memories from a road trip we took in 2019. The impetus for the trip was to pick up Isaac Kangas from Salem, Oregon. To and from Salem, though, we charted a non-linear path full of shenanigans, beautiful scenery, and car trouble. So much went wrong on this trip—from dust storms, flat tires, perpetually lost Birkenstocks, and throwing all our gear in a Uhaul after the van broke down in the middle of North Dakota. Yet so much went right, and these experiences were incredibly formative. The trip felt like a coming of age experience in all the best ways, and living out of a car for over two weeks is fertile ground for a deepened friendship. What I’m most excited about the wedding? Seeing my best pal marry the love of his life. Jake and Jenny are lovely human beings, and witnessing them building a life together has, and continues to be a joy. Let’s celebrate!

Best Man
Jake and I met in 2015 when we were skinny, scraggly, nerdy teenagers. We both worked at a summer camp, Camp Nathanael, where through a mutual love of adventure, sleeping outdoors, and deep theological conversations we became friends. As the summer went on and the years went by Jake became Walmsley to me and we went from being friends to brothers. Growing into adulthood our love for adventure and the Lord continued to draw us together on many adventures across the US, which involved many long road trips talking about grace, C.S. Lewis, and spiritual warfare. I have many great memories with Walmsley, from kayaking under a meteor shower to crawfishing in a lightning storm, but one of my favorites is our trips to South Dakota, chasing buffalo, and our late-night excursions to see Mt. Rushmore under the lights. Jake, over the span of ten years, has proved to be an incredibly loyal friend, one who has always been witty and adventurous, quick with a dry joke, insightful, and never too far away from being silly. He has been a friend to me who has both gone on grand adventures and has engaged with me in some of the deepest conversations. He is a man of God I admire. I am incredibly excited to see Jake and get married because I know that he will bring all of those things that I admire about him into his marriage. I know that the Lord has been over his relationship with Jenny from the beginning and I am excited to celebrate what the Lord has done and will do through them!

How I know Jenny and Jake: I met Jenny many years ago through church and grew up together and got to know Jake through Jenny! A favorite memory we have together: oof.... that's hard cause there's so many, but a recent favorite would be the Mill City Church retreat! What I’m excited for at the wedding: Everything, but one of the top things is probably watching Jenny walk down the aisle 🥰

I am Jake’s youngest sister and I am so excited to celebrate him and Jenny on their big day. Jake and I have always been close, so close that when we were younger I was almost convinced we were twins despite being two years younger than him. My favorite memories with Jake are all of the concerts we’ve been to together. Jake is always the first one to start dancing, no matter who is watching. In addition to always being down for a good time, Jake is the most loyal, constant, attentive friend you could ever ask for. For the wedding, I’m most excited to see him and Jenny join their lives together in front of God and all of our family and friends. And to close off the day, I’m looking forward to an epic dance party.
