FAQs

Question

What are you doing with your last names?

Answer

We will both be changing our last names to Cvek-Walmsley!

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our whole day, aside from portraits of us and the wedding party, will be indoors! We still recommend dressing for whatever weather Minnesota gives us that day in case you have to walk a few blocks from your parking spot, but you won't have to worry about sitting through a whole ceremony in rain, wind, cold, or whatever else might be on the radar for that day.

Question

What can we expect with parking?

Answer

Mill City Church is located on a residential block right in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis. There is plenty of street parking, but you may have to walk a couple blocks, so we recommend arriving early! The church does have a small lot that will be reserved for guests with accessibility needs or young children, as well as vendors and friends/family members who will be unloading large items into the building. Please let us know if you will need a space in this lot!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We don't have a formal dress code! Wear what you might wear to go to church or a nice dinner. Don't forget to wear or bring shoes you can dance in!

Question

What is your color scheme?

Answer

The bridesmaids will be in a plum purple and the groomsmen will be in cocoa brown! We're also bringing in green, blue, and your classic fall colors of mustard, rust, and maroon through our flowers and decor.

Question

What will be served for food/drinks?

Answer

Our dinner will be catered by Mim's Cafe, a mediterranean restaurant in St. Paul! The buffet will include chicken, falafel, rice, salad, hummus, and pita bread. Light snacks will be available at social hour along with coffee, tea, and few non-alcoholic beverages. We'll have dairy and non-dairy ice cream options for dessert!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please mention any food allergies or accommodations needed on your RSVP! We both have our fair share of dietary restrictions, so we've made flexible food a priority for our wedding!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

If your kids' names are listed on your invite, they're welcome to participate in all the festivities! We also totally understand if it's easier for you to get a babysitter and have a mom & dad date night, so please do whatever works better for your family!

Question

Is the reception at the church too, or just the ceremony?

Answer

The whole day will take place at Mill City Church! Our ceremony will be in the beautiful sanctuary, complete with original wooden pews and stained glass windows. Dinner and dancing will be in the Great Room just across the hall, and social hour will be in the lobby!

Question

Will there be dancing?

Answer

Absolutely! We will have music from a DJ for the first half of the evening, and Jenny's dad's band (the Arcades) will be playing 50s and 60s music for the second half. If dancing isn't your thing, we'll have board and card games out as well.

Question

Does the reception being in the church mean this will be a dry wedding?

Answer

Yes it does! We'll still have a social hour between the ceremony and reception, and we plan to provide fun non-alcoholic beverages as well as good ol' water and coffee! If you want to get a drink after you're done partying with us, there are lots of fun breweries, bars, and restaurants right in Northeast. Please do not bring any alcohol into the church.
