Things To Do
John Deere Pavilion
Check out the John Deere Pavilion while you're in town! With free admission, the showroom has new and vintage equipment, as well as interactive and immersive exhibits. Tuesday-Saturday they're open 9am-5pm. If you're in need of some new JD swag, the John Deere Store is right next to the pavilion, and they're open 10am-5pm from Monday-Saturday.
Quad City Botanical Center
Located a few minutes down River Drive are the beautiful gardens at the QC Botanical Center. See the tropical plants in the Sun Garden, explore the colorful blooms outside, and check out the greenery for sale in the lobby. Fun Fact: This was a close second for our ceremony venue!
Historic Downtown Le Claire
Just 20 minutes away from the venue sits the cute little town of Le Claire, IA. For history lovers, check out Antique Archaeology (home base of the American Pickers) or the Buffalo Bill Museum. What BBQ & Bar, Cody Road Coffee, The Shameless Chocoholic, and the Mississippi River Distilling Company are some of our favorites for food and drinks. For the shoppers, there’s lots of little boutiques to peruse in—Bela is Taylor’s favorite!
Freight House Farmers Market
On the occasion that we're actually home for a weekend, we try our best to make it to the Farmers Market! There are so many great vendors from local businesses and farms to browse through. It'll likely still be held outside at this time, but in case it's been moved in for the season or there's inclement weather, there are still quite a few vendors to check out inside the building. The Diner--an awesome breakfast place--is in the same strip of buildings if you want a sit-down meal, too!
Whitey's Ice Cream
If you love ice cream like we do, you'll have to check out Whitey's, the local QC favorite! From hard dip ice cream, to shakes, and everything in between, you're sure to come up with a tasty creation. Taylor's favorites are Moose Tracks and Mississippi Mud Revel hard dips, while Jake prefers to make a cyclone with ice cream and toppings.

Taylor is a sucker for a good iced coffee, which means Jake usually gets a drink to sample, too!
