Sarah and Jacob first met at a work retreat. They both work on separate college campuses as missionaries and would have never met if it wasn't for a divine circumstance. Sarah's staff team partnered with Jacob on a whim! At the retreat, the couple were able to interact more and share how they came to know Jesus as their Savior. They became friends after that and saw each other every once in a while for work conferences. Over time, Sarah developed an embarrassingly large crush on Jacob, while Jacob was afraid to admit he felt the same! Jacob, like Sarah, thought he felt called to be single and pursue God above all things. When the couple found out that they were going to drive together to a winter conference together (their friends failed to mention they would be together and shared after they had to stay home due to sudden covid), they were intrigued. Jacob was scared and prayed on his knees that he wouldn't flirt with Sarah when she was on her way to pick him up! The car ride started to escalate chemistry. Things took off and the couple decided to go on a date soon afterwards. Now how did these two fall in love? Well let me tell you and why Jacob: He fell in love first. Jacob tends to be the "sappy" one in the relationship. It was during a late night face-time when Sarah led one of her good friends into a relationship with Jesus Christ after years of pursuing her in friendship that Jacob's heart exploded. ...And yes, you guessed right, he is the one writing this. Sarah: While at the Illinois State University Carnival, Sarah needed to close her eyes due to too much lights and movement (Sarah struggles with chronic vertigo). Jacob then began to describe to her what was happening, filling her in on every detail. Sarah knew that Jacob was the one, because he cares about the little things. Now we look to our future. There is so much promise and joy to be experienced, but only the Lord knows what is next. All we can do is trust in Him.
