Hiking - Vail
There are various trails on Vail Mountain. The maps rate the trails by difficulty. You can hike anywhere on the mountain for no cost or buy a lift ticket and hike the top for the views and walk down. Vail Village Gondola goes to mid mountain, elevation 10,250 feet. Lionshead Gondola goes to the top of the mountain, elevation 11,570 feet. In addition, there are all types of hikes in Vail Valley. Mountain/ Road Biking
Venture Sports - Rental for Mountain/ Road Biking: Note for Mountain Biking: Lift tickets are available for mountain biking on Vail Mountain. Ride up the Vail or Lionshead Gondola. Many trails on the mountain, trail maps are available. Or you can bike down. Note for Road Biking: paved path runs from Vail to the east which goes over Vail Pass or west to Wolcott and Eagle. Music, Shopping, Activities, Events
Beautiful shops, restaurants, parks and walking paths exist all through Vail Village and Lionshead. There is also live music playing in many of the restaurants. Every Sunday there is a fabulous Farmers Market in Vail Village from 9:30-3:30 with many food and art vendors. Check out the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens and/or the Gerald Ford Amphitheater located in Vail Village for tours of the garden or live music at the amphitheater. Check out the Adventure Pass with such activities as the Forest Flyer Mountain Coaster, mini golf, summer tubing on the top of the mountain. Other festivals and events be happening as well.
