The nearest airport to Lake Tahoe is Reno-Tahoe International (RNO) in Reno, Nevada. The airport is a one-hour drive from Reno to North Lake Tahoe. There are many nonstop flights daily into Reno from major US gateways.

Winter Driving

We recommend renting an all-wheel drive vehicle: it's the easiest way to get around. The main roads into Lake Tahoe are well -traveled and maintained. Most of the time, the pavement on the roads is dry and clear, but in the mountains storms are always possible!

Airport Transfers

If you're not renting a car, we recommend using the North Lake Tahoe Express as a shuttle to/from Reno Tahoe International Airport (RNO). The drive is about 45 minutes, and you can schedule your pick-up/drop-off time via their website.

Rideshares

Uber, Lyft, and other rideshares can be less common around North Lake Tahoe. If you plan to use them, we recommend scheduling your rides in advance. You can also download the TART Connect app, which provides free on-demand micro transit in Tahoe City, Olympic Valley, and surrounding areas.
