The host resort is Palisades Tahoe, on the North Shore of the Lake in the town of Olympic Valley. One of North America's best ski resorts, Palisades' legacy of ski culture dates to the 1960 Winter Olympics. The weather is perfect for Spring Skiing with 300 days of sun coupled with 6,000 skiable acres. Palisades Resort is in Olympic Valley, CA close to the nearby town of Tahoe City.
Lake Tahoe is amazing for experiencing outdoor adventures, world class skiing, nightlife, and excellent cuisine. In the Winter, the Tahoe basin is blanketed in snow with bright blue skies and mild temperatures. The lake is at 6400' elevation and offers 72 miles of shoreline and is 22 miles long, and 12 miles wide. You can drive around the entire lake in about 2 hours, with no stops, and little traffic. The state line between California and Nevada goes through the middle of the lake. The wedding will be held in Olympic Valley, which is on the California side of the lake on the North Shore.
April is a beautiful time of year to enjoy the best of late Winter in Lake Tahoe. Average daily highs are 56 degrees and an overnight low of 28 degrees. Daylight savings begins in March, so the days are longer and the sun sets at 7:36 pm.
