You Had Me at Aloha

Ikaika was visiting Las Vegas on an annual boys trip, while dancing the night away with his friend (Daniel) in matching outfits, Isabelle spotted him on the dance floor. His infectious smile and killer dance moves drew her in. Isabelle was also visiting Las Vegas with friends, when she saw Ikaika, her heart just knew. She told her friends, pointing at Ikaika, "See that guy, I am going to be with him tonight, call me if you need me..." and off she went to 'casually' bump into him on the dance floor. They drank and danced and the night flew by, but they knew they had a special connection. Over the next couple of years, they would stay in contact via phone, social media and texting, every so often catching up for hours and seeing how the other was doing. In February of 2016, they reconnected on social media and the spark was still there... Isabelle came to San Diego to visit Ikaika in April, ended up moving there the following year in August, and they've been smitten ever since!

Ikaika was planning to propose long before he actually did. But due to COVID and the changes in Isabelle & Ikaika's daily worlds, there was a slight delay. Ikaika had asked Gene (Isabelle's father) back in January if he could have her hand in marriage and he had the ring for quite some time too. Isabelle was away on a work trip to Arizona and was really missing being home with Ikaika and their dogs Stitch & Maui. She decided to change her flight so she could come home early and spend more time with them that particular week. Ikaika picked her up at the airport, per usual, and they drove home.... conversation as normal, nothing was amiss, just a regular Tuesday at 9am. When they arrived home, Isabelle went straight for the dogs, giving them lots of attention, hugs and kisses. Then she went into her home office and started working, as the work day had begun! Ikaika was patiently waiting on the couch for Isabelle to enter their bedroom where he had set up a huge display of admiration with candles, roses and a big WILL YOU MARRY ME?! on their bed. About an hour later, Isabelle happened to open their bedroom door and was in total shock and surprise at what she found! Ikaika dropped down on one knee and gave Isabelle a beautiful speech about their love and time together and wishes for the future. And just like that... July 1st goes down in history as the day he popped the question!
