Question

Food Recs?!

Answer

There are plenty of good dining options downtown. Here are some of the places that we like: - In Bocca al Lupo: great Italian, wood fire pizza. Casual but fancy :) recommend making a reservation (downtown Juneau). Also have some lunch options in the deli (great bagel sandwiches) and awesome Ice cream! - Spice: nice atmosphere, pretty good Indian fare- right across the street from the Baranof - Devil's Club: great brewery but also has light snacks and sandwiches- if you make there on Wednesday they have great woodfire pizzas (starts at 4pm) - Deckhand Daves: Should be open by June (just finishing renovations) Nice spot on a sunny day, great rockfish, halibut fish tacos! - The Rookery: Nice spot for lunch or breakfast! - Coppa: Only open on weekdays, but they have good coffee, and breakfast/lunch options. If you catch them on Fridays after 10am they have fresh doughnuts and sometimes bagels. - Island pub: On Douglas. Great Pizza and salads, apps, sandwiches. Great views across the channel. Nice relaxed vibes!

Question

Where are some fun places to grab a drinkie?

Answer

Some good options for a drink: - Amalaga Distillery: Very cute and good vibes. Gin and Whiskey distillery. Right across the street from Baranof hotel (next to Spice). Fun cocktails on tap, and great sunny atmosphere. Also has great gift options if you are looking to take something home with you :) - Devil's Club: Super nice brewery! great beers! also food options - The Narrows: if you want a fancy cocktail in a cozy, dark cute space- this is for you! great bartenders- arguably the best in town ;) - Griz Bar: Fun outdoor space to grab a beer or cocktail. There are undergoing renovations, hopefully they will be open during the wedding week! - Forbidden Peak: This is out the road in Auke Bay, but if you make it out there- this brewery has epic views with indoor and outdoor seating. You can also grab food there (At the Red Spruce) although its slightly expensive and can be hit or miss. Across the way inside Squirez they have better food (the anchor) but a more Dive-y experience. - If you are looking for a dive bar situation downtown: The Alaskan is a good one ;)

Question

What should I wear to the Welcome Beach Bonfire?

Answer

The welcome bonfire on Friday will be held at Sandy Beach in South Douglas. We have rented out a pavilion and will have the fire going if its chilly. Dress casual, comfortable shoes and bring a jacket or layers in case the Taku winds start to pick up down the channel.

Question

What's the situation for the Wedding Ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will be held on False Outer Point on North Douglas and start at 3:00pm. (NOTE: printed invitations say 2:00pm, but that is incorrect.) The terrain at False Outer Point can be slightly rocky and sandy so please wear comfortable shoes. The trail from the parking lot has a slight sloped packed-dirt walkway and the sand on the beach can be less packed with small pebbles interspersed. Guests will be guided to use the dirt trail until we reach the ceremony and will have some benches. If you don't mind standing, please allow guests which may need to sit have a seat first. The dress code is Dressy/Casual, meaning you can be as dressy or as casual as you like. Please wear whatever you feel most comfortable in!

Question

What's the Shuttle Schedule?

Answer

If you said yes to taking the shuttle, this question is for you! We will have a shuttle pick up guests downtown at 2:00pm at the Baranof Hotel (127 N Franklin St.) and be driven to False Outer Point Beach. After the ceremony, the shuttle will drive guests up to Eaglecrest Ski Area (where the reception is held). After the reception, there will be two departure times to shuttle guests back to Downtown Juneau: 10:00pm and 12:00am. If you seek to leave earlier, there are cab options you can reserve to have them pick you up at Eaglecrest. please reach out to Ian or Mal if you have any other specific questions. *If you said no to taking the shuttle, but have since changed your mind, please reach out to Ian or Mallarie ASAP so we can make sure we add you to the head count.

For all the days along the way
