First, we want to thank each and every one of you for your support and patience as we try to navigate wedding planning in the midst of a global pandemic. It's been quite the experience! As the COVID-19 case numbers spike by the thousands in Florida, we felt the best option was to bring the celebration back home to Cadillac, MI. Please keep an eye on your e-mail for more information in the coming days!
It is with saddened hearts that we share the news that our wedding scheduled for May 1, 2020, has been canceled out of concern and caution for our guests during this uncertain time. In the coming months, we will hold a small celebration with our families as we step into our next chapter as husband and wife. Details for our families can be found on the schedule and travel tabs of this website. Thank you for your continued love and support.
We met through our work at 9&10 News, but it wasn't right away. Courtney was an anchor on the morning show when Matthew started as a sports reporter. He worked weekends and nights, and she worked early mornings. Our paths rarely crossed. When Courtney shifted schedules, it didn't take long to realize Matthew was the one.
Courtney was up in Traverse City for a Saturday night with friends, and Matthew told Courtney he wanted to meet her for a lunch date on Sunday at The Franklin. She probably should've known something was up when *he* asked to take a picture in front of the big Christmas tree downtown. Mid-photo, he got down on one knee and popped the question. Very Hallmark Movie-esque and we wouldn't have it any other way!
