El Faro
This is our favorite restaurant in Ixtapa! It sits on the highest hill and overlooks Playa El Palmar. It's perfect for date night and big groups. The sunset here is incredible and the food is fantastic. The hotel concierge can make a reservation for you.
La Casa Que Canta - Mar y Cielo Restaurant
This is a stunning boutique luxury hotel on Playa la Ropa in Zihuatanejo proper (about a 15 min drive from Cala de Mar). Their restaurant Mar y Cielo is one of the best restaurants in town with amazing seafood and incredible views. 10/10 recommend!
Bistro Soleiado
This is a cute, local restaurant with a great French/Moroccan inspired menu. The concierge can make a reservation for you.
Restaurante La Perla
This is a great little beach-front restaurant on Playa la Ropa! The tables are in the sand and the seafood is awesome. It's the perfect place to watch the sunset at happy hour! You can also rent beach chairs and umbrellas with beach-side service here if you want a beach day.
Casa Bahia
This al fresco restaurant is a hidden gem tucked into the Bay of Ziua. Great seafood and Mexican food with a beautiful view.
Palma Real Ixtapa Golf Course
Palma Real is an original Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed par 72 golf course. It sits on an old coconut plantation, surrounded by indigenous wildlife and tropical vegetation.
Playa la Ropa
Considered one of the best beaches in Mexico - Playa la Ropa is the prettiest beach in Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo! Many of the nicest Zihuatanejo hotels and restaurants are located on Playa la Ropa. A lot of the little restaurants along the beach charge a tiny fee for a beach table/umbrella chairs and full service for food and drinks. Restaurante la Perla is the perfect spot on la Ropa!
Playa Principal
This is the main beach right in front of the town of Zihuatanejo. This beach isn't for swimming or relaxing, but is a really great place to grab dinner or drinks and watch the local fisherman. It's very authentic and a cool way to immerse yourself in the Zihau culture. Coconuts Restaurant & Bar and El Agave are two good options here!
