Areas to Stay in Paros

Explore our favorite island! The main villages in Paros are Parikia in the west and Naoussa in the north. PARIKIA Parikia is the capital and main port of the island. It is also called Paros town or Hora. There are many cafes & restaurants along the waterfront, small boutique shops in maze of alleys, centuries-old churches, ruins of the Frankish castle, museums, and much more to explore. The narrow whitewashed streets contrasted by the colored doors and windows and lush bougainvilleas abide by the typical Cycladic aesthetic. If you are interested in immersing yourself into Paro’s rich history, Paroikia has many historical monuments to explore such as the Panagia Ekatontapiliani (also known as the church of 100 doors), the venetian castle as well as the iconic windmills. The Archaeological Museum of Paros is also located there. We recommend staying in Parikia to be in close proximity to all the wedding events. ​ Mar Azul (the wedding venue) is a 14 minute drive from Parikia. NAOUSSA The buzzing town of Naoussa perfectly encapsulates/showcases the distinct Cycladic architecture and the unique aura of the island as it has gracefully retained its traditional character and authentic essence despite the substantial growth and popularity among tourists. Like a card postal, with blue-domed churches, white-washed houses, quaint fishing boats and the iconic stone pathways boasting many high-end restaurants, cocktail bars, boutiques, and wineries; it is definitely worth spending some time exploring and experiencing Naoussa. ​ Mar Azul (the wedding venue) is a 25 minute drive from Naoussa. ​
