Question

What's the best way to RSVP? And when is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

The most streamlined way to RSVP (for us and for you) would be through the "RSVP" tab on this website. If you are not tech-savvy, we included a pre-stamped paper RSVP card with your invitation. Feel free to fill it out and send it through the mail. Whether you RSVP online or through snail mail, it must be done no later than JULY 15, 2023. We have to send final numbers to our caterer 30 days in advance, as well as create a seating chart between then and the wedding day. If you do not RSVP by the deadline, we cannot guarantee you a seat or a meal.

Question

What does a "Semi-Formal/Cocktail Attire" dress code really mean?

Answer

Semi-Formal: This wedding dress code is a step up from dressy casual attire, but not quite as bold as cocktail attire or as fancy as formal attire (i.e. black tie and black tie optional). When dressing for a semi-formal wedding, aim for understated and elegant looks—think streamlined blazers, dress shirts, pantsuits, midi dresses, and simple accessories. Cocktail attire: is all about creating a party-ready look while keeping it classy. For dresses, cocktail-length is a must—that means a knee-length hemline or something longer that hits above the ankles. A trusty LBD always works. If you don't want to wear a dress, a jumpsuit is a chic alternative. Men should wear suits, preferably in dark blue or black. High heels or dress shoes will complete your look. Finally, it's time to add accessories, which is where the cocktail attire theme can really shine. Bedazzled clutches, patterned ties and colorful bow ties, and eye-catching jewelry will give your ensemble a final bit of pizzazz and personality. We want you to look and feel your best, which is why our dress code has 2 options. Wear what makes you most comfortable, but please (for the love of all things holy, PLEASE) don't wear t-shirts, jeans or cargo shorts/pants.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

We have worked hard to narrow down our guest list to our closest friends and family. Although the event will be large (because Keegan's family is massive), we would like to keep it as intimate and personal as possible. AKA we don't want a bunch of random people at our wedding. Reference the RSVP card included with your invitation to know whether or not we have accounted for a plus-one. The number of seats we have reserved is the number of people we have planned for your party to bring. If there is any confusion, the online RSVP system will tell you exactly how many seats we have planned for your party!

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

You should plan to arrive about 15 minutes before the ceremony start time (4:30PM) to allow yourself time to get settled.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Yes! We just ask that they are fully supervised throughout the duration of our event.

Question

How do I get to the wedding venue? Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Taking I-90 from either Rapid City or Sturgis, you will get off on exit 40 and turn East onto Tilford Road. After 4 miles, turn left onto Pleasant Valley Road. in 1 mile, continue on Pleasant Valley Road and follow the curve to the left. In another mile, you will come to a fork in the road. Take a sharp left onto Harp Road and you will see a large white barn on the right side of the road - that's us! Transportation will not be provided from either of our contracted hotels, unfortunately. Uber and Lyft are available in Rapid City and Sturgis and are willing to drive to and from The Farmhouse Barn, if you do not want to drive yourselves.

Question

Is there parking available at the wedding venue?

Answer

If you are driving yourself, there is a large gravel parking lot available directly next to the barn. Overnight parking is permitted, but your vehicle has to be picked up by noon on Sunday.

Question

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors and unshaded. Plan to wear sunscreen if you need to! We will provide bottled water and fans if the weather is forecasted to be hotter than normal. Cocktail hour will primarily be on the outdoor patio area, but there is an indoor bar guests may access during that time as well. We will have games and activities set up for you all to enjoy. Reception will take place inside the air-conditioned barn. The outdoor bar will still be open throughout the night, for guests to utilize as they need. There is also a fire pit outside and the games and activities will remain playable as long as guests would like to play them!

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony to post on social media?

Answer

We have chosen to have an unplugged wedding ceremony. That means no phones, cameras, video cameras, or other electronics out during the ceremony. We want to see your faces, not your devices!

Question

What is the restroom situation?

Answer

The Farmhouse Barn has full amenity outdoor restrooms that are ADA compliant. Think fancy porta potties. They are fully cleaned and serviced the morning of the event, so don't worry about cleanliness. There is also a fully functioning sink for handwashing in that area.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

The bar will be open during cocktail hour, but transition to a cash bar during dinner and the remainder of the evening. The bar has a wine and beer license, handcrafted sangria and canned specialty drinks, along with non-alcoholic Coke products, kids drinks, sweet and unsweet tea, and water. DO NOT bring any outside liquor or beverages onto the property. You will be asked to leave.

Question

When will the reception end? Will there be an after-party?

Answer

The bar will close at 10:30 PM and guests need to be off the property by 11 PM. Plans for an after-party are still in progress...
