In March of 2020, Jessen was finishing up her senior year at Briar Cliff University and Keegan was working from home (thanks COVID), both in Sioux City, Iowa. When her on-campus housing closed down due to the pandemic, Jessen was left to scramble for a new place to live. Enter bridesmaid, Baily Sitzmann. The girls searched for a rental and went to tour a big, old, beautiful house. The landlord was running late and the girls were nosey, thinking no one was home, and decided to walk around the outside of the house to check it out -- and out the front door came Keegan, "Do you guys want me to show you around?" Keegan gave the full tour before the landlord showed up and Keegan's housemates came back from playing a round of golf, not too long later. Enter groomsman, Alan Smith. Jessen knew Alan already and had no idea why she hadn't been introduced to this adorable cauliflower-eared friend of his before. That night, they all played endless games of beer pong after a round of Edward 40-hands (sorry, Baily..), talked, and laughed into the wee hours of the morning. Before the night was over, Alan told Keegan and Jessen, "I'm calling it right now. You guys are getting married." This is the one time we are happy to say... Alan, you were right.
