Jason and Megan met on Bumble, a dating app. After years of encouragement from friends, Megan finally, begrudgingly agreed to set up a dating profile just after moving to Nashville, TN for fellowship, and within a month was matched with Jason. Rather quickly, they realized they had nearly everything in common (aside from the brand of mayo they prefer -- Megan is hardcore Team Duke's and Jason prefers Hellmans). They went on their first date to Sunday Brunch a week after meeting and despite busy careers and living in cities an hour apart, quickly became best friends. Falling in love from there was easy.
Washington, DC has long been Megan and Jason's favorite city, so it's only suiting that the proposal occurred on a much awaited trip to DC in February. After a phenomenal weekend of meeting Jason's old friends, taking special tours to the White House West Wing and Capitol, eating great food, and spending lots of time together after a very busy month, Jason's friend Lane arranged a night time visit to the Speaker's Balcony of the US Capitol. Despite carrying the ring in his pocket for over 12 hours and passing through security directly behind her at least 5 times throughout the day, Megan never noticed and was completely shocked when he got down on one knee. He met and surpassed all of Megan's dreams by asking her father, using her full name, having someone take pictures, and having it occur at a place that we could visit together in the future! Her response? "Yes! Of course!" A video of their story and proposal is available at: https://youtu.be/d3PPBn5Fv7k
