We ask that our guests be vaccinated again COVID-19 and bring proof of their vaccination status to all wedding events. Many restaurants and venues throughout the city are beginning to require this for entry (including the location of our Saturday night Welcome Reception) so we strongly suggest having this information ready to go. We understand that some of our guests are unable to be vaccinated. If possible, please have proof of a negative COVID test within 48 hours of attending the event. Grubb's Pharmacy (https://www.grubbspharmacy.com) is local and offers rapid testing by appointment or walk-in. Finally, masks are required in all establishments for entry, exit, and moving between floors, going to the bathroom, etc. It is expected that our guests will remain masked throughout the ceremony, but may remove them when eating and drinking. We know this is frustrating, but we're doing our best to create a safe and fun environment for all of our guests and vendors. Thank you.
Both the ceremony and reception are at District Winery. When you arrive, signs and the friendly staff will make sure you know where to go.
The Ceremony will start right at 6:00 pm. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before to find a seat.
Due to the unpredictable nature of the USPS, we kindly ask that you RSVP online.
We will not be providing any transportation. There are several methods to get around DC, including public transportation, Lyft and Uber. Our ceremony, and reception venues are all within walking distance of our two host hotels.
If you'll be driving, please arrange parking in advance with your hotel. If you are staying in an Airbnb or VRBO, please check to see if they have parking. If not, there are several parking garages throughout the city. If you elect to park on the street, please pay attention to all parking signs.
Our welcome party, ceremony and reception are all child-free. We understand that DC is a family destination, so if you are planning on making a vacation out of this trip, please visit care.com and search by vacation sitters. We can also connect you with other guests traveling with children.
Yes! The wedding is black tie optional. While men can wear a tuxedo, it’s not a requirement and we don't expect many will. You should plan to wear a formal dark suit and tie instead. Women can go the long evening gown route, but a dressy suit or shorter cocktail dress is wonderful too. It will be the last weekend of summer, so we expect to see some seersucker and sundresses as well. We're not! Having everyone we love in town to celebrate with us is enough. If you do elect to give a gift, please click on the registry tab for options.
The Ceremony and Reception will be indoors. Weather permitting, the Cocktail Hour will be outside. DC can still be quite hot and humid in September, so please plan appropriately.
We will be serving a traditional family style dinner. When you RSVP, please indicate any dietary restrictions so the venue is able to make accommodations.
Of course! We'll update this section once we decide on a hashtag...
