How We Met

2.23.2022

We met online. At the time, Heather thought she knew what she wanted. She had a pretty tight age range, and was not willing to change them. A couple weeks into the app, Luke was steadily going on casual dates, while Heather was too and continued swiping no on every man that came up as a match. The app sent Heather a message telling her that her settings were too rigid and to widen the age gap. Minutes after accepting the challenge, Luke liked one of Heather's photos. She took the chance and started casually chatting through the app. A few days later, Luke asked to meet in person at the Mode Lounge in downtown Boise. The bar is shaped like a horseshoe and Luke was sitting by the windows on the left, while Heather sat in a booth to the right. We almost didn't meet because we thought we stood each other up. Luke sent a text letting Heather know where he was sitting (the bar isn't even big, so not sure how we missed each other). We both laughed while introducing ourselves. We realized we both knew a few of the same people in town, had a great flowing conversation, and both loved music and traveling. Luke's second date suggestion was to go to one of Idaho's most expensive steak restaurants, Chandler's. He had to have known pretty quickly that Heather was a catch to ask her out on such a fancy date. Heather was charmed by Luke's kind and jovial personality. The rest is history!

The Proposal

5.9.2023 and 6.24.2023

During our epic trip to South Korea, Heather was planning a proposal with her best friends to surprise Luke. Heather was planning to propose in Busan, South Korea on one of the beautiful beaches at sunset. During the trip, Luke mentioned wanting to see his favorite Korean baseball team, the Doosan Bears. They just so happened to be playing a game while we were in Busan (which worked out perfectly). Heather decided to change plans last minute and propose at the stadium on 5.9.2023. While sitting at the game, Heather purposely sat in the wrong seat. Before the game started she was getting anxious to mess up, but she handed Luke a ticket asking him to check if she was in the correct seat. What Luke didn't know was the ticket was not for the baseball game, rather it was a custom concert ticket stating, "The Forever Tour, Luke Holley, Will You Marry Me?" We got the entire thing on camera, which my besties from Korea did an amazing job at capturing it all. Heather mentioned to Luke there was no pressure, but would love for him to also ask for her hand in marriage when the time was right. Little did she know, he was planning on proposing at one of the Grand Openings at Treefort Music Hall, and text all her local besties in Boise to be there. We were standing in line, and Heather was eager to go inside. Luke continued to mention we should wait for her friends outside to show up, but she had no idea what was going on. Once we were there, she realized all her favorite Boise gang was with her, but she had no idea a proposal was coming. Heather was in complete shock when Luke got down on one knee with the most beautiful engagement ring on 6.24.2023. If you've made it this far, thank you! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in life with you all. See you in Kauai!
