In April of 2011, Savannah attended a volunteer program for youth at Timberline Church called Serve Out Loud with her friend Alyssia. They were two of the first to arrive. As they were scoping out the place, Savannah turned around to see a tall, handsome guy with the best hair she had ever seen and a great sense of style. She was drawn to him immediately. For the duration of the event, Savannah kept an eye on this mysterious dreamboat, not knowing anything about him until at one point when she heard his friend call out to him, "Hey Seth!" So then she knew his name, but she was too reluctant to do anything about it. Thanks to the persuasive convincing of Alyssia, Savannah ended up looking for Seth on Facebook, adding him, and striking up a brief conversation, not knowing where this fleeting connection would eventually lead. Two years later, Seth had graduated high school in Missouri and had moved back home. Scrolling through old Facebook messages, one girl in particular caught his eye. He thought she was the prettiest one. He decided to try talking to her and see where it might go. All day and all night for a week straight, Seth and Savannah messaged each other back and forth, culminating in an hours-long phone call and their very first date. They connected immediately over mutual loves of music, film, philosophy, spirituality, family, and so much more. As the years went on, they brought so much to each other's lives - Savannah showed Seth the magical world of Harry Potter, and he enlightened her to the fantastical tale of Lord of the Rings. He introduced her to Brand New, and she proved to him that not all rap music was bad - in fact, some of it was quite good. As they grew together, they began to understand just how well they complement one another. They bring out the best in each other ♥
In September of 2018, Seth, Savannah, and their friend Alyssa were in Chicago for Savannah and Alyssa's annual attendance of Riot Fest, and to visit with Seth's sister Rachel. Seth had known he wanted to propose to Savannah for some time, and had been saving. One day, while Savannah and Alyssa were festing it up, Rachel suggested to Seth that they go ring shopping while he was visiting. He thought that was a good idea, and thought that Riot Fest weekend, one of Savannah's favorite times of year, would be a perfect time to propose to her. Rachel helped him pick out the perfect ring, and they planned that he would propose on their last day in town on the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel. When that day came and Rachel was slyly talking to Savannah about what they should do that day, Savannah thought that $18 was too expensive to go on a Ferris wheel and that they should find something else to do. They all decided to go to the Lincoln Park Conservatory. The plants inside were beautiful, but it was a hot, humid day, and the conservatory was extra muggy, so Savannah walked ahead at a fast pace, anxious to get back outside to the fresh air. Seth was waiting for the right moment to propose amongst the beautiful foliage, but found it hard to keep up! Once they were in the very last room, he finally caught up to her, tapped on her shoulder and said "Stop! I need to ask you something!" She turned around to see Seth down on one knee with a ring in his hand ♥
