Looking to hike, kayak, white water raft, or just go for a beautiful drive? The New River Gorge has the most iconic West Virginia scenery. This is about 90 minutes south of the wedding venue.
Stonewall Resort State Park
Not looking to travel far? There is plenty to do on the resort at Stonewall. Rent kayaks or bikes, go for a hike, fish, golf, or have a spa day! We recommend calling ahead for spa or golfing reservations.
Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum
Are you a spooky girl? Head to this local haunted asylum which is only about 15 minutes from the wedding venue.
The Greenbrier
This iconic West Virginia hotel boasts period decor, an old fashioned diner, and a secret cold war bunker. If you're a history buff or love a luxurious hotel experience, consider a day trip or overnight stay at the Greenbrier Hotel. This is about 2.5 hours south of the wedding venue.
Coopers Rock State Forest
Another iconic West Virginia area with amazing fall foliage. If you are driving north from the wedding venue this state park would be a quick stop off the highway just 15 minutes from Morgantown, or stay longer and do a full hike!
Dolly Sods Wilderness
This state park is about 2 hours straight east of the wedding venue and boasts some of the best WV foliage.
