This will be an adults-only event. We hope our family and friends can understand that this was not an easy decision to make, but we think you deserve a night off!
We have taken "plus ones" into careful consideration. If at any point you are unsure of your ability to bring a date, please take note of how your invitation is addressed! If you have been given a plus one, you will also see an option to add a guest when you RSVP.
You certainly won’t be stopped at the door, but we recommend cocktail to semi-formal attire. The ceremony and reception will be located outside, so please dress accordingly.
Venue parking is located just a few houses down behind The Butler Building at 337 S Milledge Ave. We highly recommend utilizing Uber and Lyft, as these services are easily accessible in Athens!
We will not provide transportation to and from the venue. If you intend to drive, there is ample parking just a few houses down. If you do not have a vehicle of your own, we recommend Uber or Lyft. If you are staying downtown, we do not recommend walking, as it is about a 20-minute uphill walk.
Yes! Both the ceremony and reception will be held at the Hardeman-Sams Estate located at 255 S Milledge Ave.
There are plenty of hotels to choose from! We would recommend The Hyatt Place, SpringHill Suites, Hotel Indigo, Homewood Suites, or Holiday Inn Express. These hotels are all conveniently located in or near downtown Athens, just 5-minutes from the venue. There are also plenty of hotels in the surrounding areas, but we would recommend one of the aforementioned spots if you're looking to enjoy the downtown Athens amenities. Looking for something outside of Athens? Check out Watkinsville! Please keep in mind, there is an event in Athens that same weekend, so hotels are booking FAST!
There are plenty of nice rentals in the area, and they can be a huge money-saver! We’d recommend looking in the following areas: Five Points, Normaltown, downtown Athens, any neighborhood off Westlake, or near Southern Brewing Company. Don't be afraid to reach out to us if you need advice or assistance!
Please keep in mind when booking your ticket, the Atlanta airport is about an hour and a half from Athens. Please plan accordingly if you choose to fly, as you will need supplemental time to travel to Athens. We recommend renting a car ahead of time, or utilizing Uber or Lyft. There are several different driving routes from Atlanta to Athens, just be mindful of rush-hour traffic. If you would prefer to use public transportation, we recommend looking into Groome Transportation.
YES! The annual “Twilight” bike race is Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27. This is a HUGE event that brings massive crowds to Athens each year. The bike race WILL affect traffic patterns, parking, and crosswalks, but it’s a ton of fun to experience! There’s a beer-garden, food vendors, live music, and a high-speed amateur bike ride through the streets of downtown Athens. This is a super fun attraction if you’re looking for something additional to do that weekend! Get a drink, find a nice corner, and watch the chaos!
