Hallie and Aaron met at The Ohio State University in the fall of 2014 when Aaron was teaching beginner ballroom for DanceSport at OSU, the ballroom dance club on campus. Though neither of us had ever danced before college, we both came from musical backgrounds and thought, "why not? looks like it could be fun!" Little did we know we'd fall in love with dance and, in time, with each other. After an exciting year of dance competitions, spaghetti dinners, exams, a corn maze adventure gone awry, and a National Championship (go Bucks!), we gradually went from teammates to close friends to something more. When the school year ended we went our separate ways for the summer, but despite Aaron being in Cleveland and Hallie being in Chicago, we talked on the phone every night. Aaron even sent Hallie flowers to wish her good luck on her first day as a camp counselor! By the time the summer came to a close, we both knew we had found our special someone. We returned to campus in the fall, and on September 28, 2015 we became official.
After dating for over four years, Aaron proposed to Hallie at Rocky River Reservation, a gorgeous metropark near our home in Cleveland, Ohio. With the help of our awesome friend, Harrison (who is also our officiant!), Aaron knew the words "Will you marry me?" would be the easiest question he'd ever ask. Of course, she said YES!
On October 10th, 2021 we will be married at Dante, a place that is near and dear to our hearts as it is the restaurant where we have celebrated every anniversary together since 2016. Our wedding will feature a blend of traditions old and new, honoring both Hallie's Jewish heritage and Aaron's Mexican cultural roots. We are so excited for our friends and family to join us as we celebrate our love and the start of our journey together as husband and wife!
