Lawrence and Haleigh first met each other working at Providence Saint Joseph's Medical Center. Lawrence was working as a Physical Therapist Assistant and Haleigh had just graduated from physical therapy school. Haleigh's positive spirit and Lawrence’s kind and fun nature made for instant friendship. As friends, they began hiking during the hot summer months of 2020 trying to walk off the stress of the pandemic. The more hikes they went on, the more they realized how much they liked each. They found that they had a lot in common, one of which being their love of food. Their first date was at Mercado, a Mexican restaurant in Pasadena, which happens to be Haleigh’s favorite restaurant. That same night she invited him over to her house where he met her mother, father, sister and sister's boyfriend. The date must have gone well because the following day he invited her over to a "small" family bbq. Minutes before exiting the car to meet his family, he says, "by the way, I have never brought a girl home before, but no pressure." Despite the nervousness she felt after hearing this new information, Haleigh found herself pleasantly surprised when she quickly connected with his friendly and outgoing family. It wasn’t hard for their families and friends to see how their friendship had turned into love. They adopted a gorgeous golden retriever puppy and named her Lady Mae. They moved down to San Diego and both began working at Scripps Hospital. Lawrence popped the question in December 2022 at their favorite winery, Europa Village, in Temecula with all of their friends and family there to celebrate. They continue to challenge each other and show each other their unconditional love daily.
