Let's start from the very beginning...our families go way back. Our grandparents were friends and our mothers grew up together, living just across the lake from each other. In fact Ryan's mom, who is an identical twin, was born just a day apart from Ali's aunts, who also happen to be identical twins. Did you get all of that? Long story short our grandparents were friends, our parents are friends so we were bound to meet each other with all these connections. We met on the Fourth of July at our very favorite place, up north on Big Sturgeon Lake. Somehow Ryan got roped into being the boat driver for his mom and aunts to go to Ali's cabin. After a few weeks of talking, we were all set to go on our first date to a St. Paul Saints game and Ali chickened out. Needless to say our families were not very happy about it! Not long after that she realized what a big mistake it would be to let Ryan get away. We went on a date mini golfing (which Ali won, thank you very much). We just clicked and from that day on, we couldn't get enough of each other.
We dated for about a year when we went on a trip to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Our first day of hiking was in Sedona. When we got to the top of Devil's Bridge and were looking out at the amazing view, Ali turned around to see Ryan down on one knee. Of course she said yes (more like yelled OH MY GOSH YES!) It was without a doubt one of the happiest days of our lives. We are so excited to celebrate with you!
