In 2008 we met at Brix Restaurant & Lounge in Cherry Creek, CO. There was a blizzard that night and neither of us had plans to go out, but our groups of friends talked us into it. We were both out with friends from College. Greg noticed Jenna as soon as he got there. He approached Jenna twice with small talk. Later on, Jenna saw Greg standing at the bar and walked over to buy him a drink. The Mos Def song "Miss Fat Booty" came on, and Greg asked Jenna to dance. Mos Def was Jenna's favorite Rap Artist and she thought, "he better know this song!" As it turns out, Greg knew the words to the song and we danced the night away. The rest is history!
On a trip to Jenna's hometown of Waimea, Hawaii; I proposed to Jenna on Anaeho'omalu Beach (A- Bay). That also happens to be the same beach her oldest sister Tiva got married on, so it holds some family tradition. I wanted a beautiful beach on the coast for a special proposal, so I reached out t Jenna's Dad, Mike, who suggested A-Bay. The whole trip into Hawaii, I was hiding the ring and feeling really nervous about making sure I didn't lose it. I was also worried about making sure everything went just right for the proposal. I had made dinner plans at a restaurant by the beach, so the plan was to walk along the beach with Jenna and eventually propose and then go to dinner. We got to the beach about 15 minutes before the sun was starting to set. We took our sandals off and walked along the white sand beach. I noticed the sun was about to set and I didn't want to miss the moment. So I stopped a man that was walking by with his family and asked him to take a picture of us. When I handed him my phone I secretly told him I was about to propose and to please film and take some pictures. It turned out to be a perfect time on a perfect beach at a perfect moment. The sun began setting right behind us as I got on one knee and asked Jenna to spend the rest of her life with me. Obviously, she said yes! So I told her we were going to have dinner at the expensive restaurant next door. But Jenna being Jenna, said "we don't HAVE to go there. Lava Lava club is right next door too and it's more chill with live music." So, we went to Lava Lava club, had some great food, drank Champagne and listened to some live local Hawaiian music. It was a great night!
