It all started about 11 years ago at Villanova University when we were introduced at one of Greg's fraternity parties. It was holiday-themed, and Cara may or may not have been dressed as a Christmas tree. We had an instant connection but couldn’t quite commit to anything during those crazy college years. After graduation, we both did a bit of growing up and eventually reconnected while living/working in NYC. After meeting at 19, we finally went on our first official date at 25 (the fraternity formals didn’t count). It all began to fall into place, and things really got serious when Greg brought Cara to his twin brother’s wedding a year later. Greg had just moved to Indiana, so we managed to fall in love while long-distance between New York and Notre Dame. Our relationship survived 2 years of long road trips, small planes, and Midwest blizzards. Greg eventually made his way back to Hoboken, and Cara couldn’t resist joining him - which brings us to...
On the eve of Cara’s 30th birthday, we arrived in Newport, Rhode Island for a spontaneous weekend getaway. Greg planned everything within two weeks, and Cara was oblivious to all the suspicious signs. Unseasonably cold weather didn’t stop us from going for a walk at sunset to check out the view, and that’s where Greg got down on one knee in front of a charming lighthouse and an orange sky. Cara was so surprised, she didn’t even notice the photographer lurking nearby to capture the moment in all its perfection. After the shock wore off and we called our parents, we spent the rest of the weekend reveling in our excitement all over Newport.
