Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Andrea Grefer and Kyle McClung
Since our wedding is wrapping up Valentines weekend, we thought it might be helpful to suggest a few date night options for the weekend. Getting out in nature is an important part of our relationship so we are also including our favorite parks and trails to explore. I know February might not have the most lush greenery but we love a good winter hike, less bugs and more fun! The following are just a few of our most frequented spots, including some places with special meaning for us as a couple. Whether you're an out of town guest or someone who already lives here, we hope you take some of these recommendations and make them into special memories for yourselves!
Cincinnati Art Museum

Cincinnati Art Museum

953 Eden Park Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45202

You do not need to be an art buff to enjoy our gorgeous art museum! In walking distance to our wedding venue, this is a great (free) option to kill time in Mt. Adams before the wedding. Our art museum is so beautiful we even considered getting married here, we just wouldn't have been able to invite all of you and that was a dealbreaker! If you're looking for a little scenic exercise, we suggest trying the "Art Climb" followed by a walk around beautiful Mt. Adams. The Art Climb is a staircase that starts at the intersection of Gilbert Ave and Eden Park Drive and leads up to the museum. One of our favorite morning routines is to walk up the stairs to Mt Adams, look at the views and beautiful homes in the area, and end at Bow Tie Cafe for a coffee or tea.

Krohn Conservatory

Krohn Conservatory

1501 Eden Park Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Another Eden Park gem! The Krohn Conservatory is such a beautiful place, especially if you aren't a winter person. Walk in to the conservatory and you are suddenly in the tropics! Its located right in the middle of the massive Eden Park and is an all around beauty. Perfect place for a date or even just some alone time, and if you're a plant person you cannot miss this place!

Eden Park

Eden Park

950 Eden Park Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45202

This is one of our most visited parks because its practically our front yard (we wish)! You will likely drive through it on your way to the venue. We recommend driving up to the Eden Park Overlook and checking out the historic Gazebo before coming to the ceremony, both are great photo spots!

Ice Skating at Fountain Square

Ice Skating at Fountain Square

520 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Since you're here in the winter, there's no better way to experience downtown Cincinnati than going ice skating in Fountain Square. What's more romantic than a date night getting hot chocolate and ice skating downtown?! If you are staying downtown you can also take the Streetcar (look at the next post for more info) which has a stop right at Fountain Square.

The Cincinnati Streetcar

The Cincinnati Streetcar

1927 Race Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

The downtown streetcar can take you to some of the best places in Cincinnati. The streetcar is 100% free and follows a 3.6 mile loop through Downtown, OTR, and The Banks. So if you feel like checking out historic Music Hall and Washington Park, seeing a show at The Aronoff Center, taking a chance at the Hard Rock Casino, or you just want to go bar hopping, you need to check out the Street Car!

Devou Park

Devou Park

1201 Park Drive, Covington, KY 41011

If you're like us and enjoy a good winter hike (and great views) Devou is the spot! It's just over the river in Covington, KY. If you drive all the way up to the top you will get one of the arguably best views of downtown Cincinnati, no hiking necessary! The trails here are some of our favorites, both for mountain biking and walking. Check out the Train Surfer or Benny Vastine trail if weather permits and you're up for some good nature time.

Ault Park

Ault Park

Ault Park Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45208

We went here on our first real date in April of 2021! Andrea grew up going to this park and we still come here often just to walk around, set up our hammock, or just to lay down a blanket and relax. Its a super accessible and family friendly park with beautifully manicured grounds and some well maintained trails. If you're looking for an easy walk while you're in town (even if its snowy and cold) this is a great place to go! The Valley Trail is mostly flat so even in the snow it's a pretty safe bet!
