A beautiful, historic landmark and museum with lovely gardens. This Spanish mission was founded over 200 years ago in 1776. Being at the mission feels like being back in time with its preserved buildings, detailed excavations, well-presented exhibits, and award-winning audio tour. It is definitely worth a visit, just down the street from our wedding venue.
Explore Los Rios district for antique stores, art, and restaurants! Los Rios Historic District includes 40 structures lining both sides of Los Rios Street (next to San Juan Capistrano’s Old Town). The Montanez Adobe, Rios Adobe, and Silvas Adobe are all that remain of the adobes that housed the builders of the mission and the mission ranch workers in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Some sources affirm this is the oldest neighborhood in California
A 2.8 mile walk or hike with gorgeous beach views, scenic overlooks, coastal access, and over 150 species of native plants and animals. About a 10-15 minute drive from the venue.
Check out one of the orange county beaches - Capistrano beach, Doheny state beach, Mother's beach, Dana Strand beach. All about a 10 min drive from the wedding venue
San Clemente is about 15 minutes from the wedding venue. This easy-going surf town is home to the San Clemente pier, which is almost 100 years old and spans 1200 ft!
If you are extending your visit and looking for a day trip, wine tasting in Temecula Valley is about a 1 hour drive from San Juan Capistrano. There are 47 wineries across 33,000 acres, each with their own unique personality. Our favorites to visit are Leoness and Bottaia.
