For those that don't know, Caroline and Grant met on an online dating website. After only two dates, Grant left for a three month job assignment in Georgia (the state, not the country) and yet somehow, the two of them not only managed to stay in touch, but grew together into a happy relationship. Following his return, Grant became heavily involved in something called jiu jitsu, which is totally not a cult, and deciding that she could either be jealous of the time Grant spent or join in it, Caroline began to attend classes as well. This shared activity cemented the two of them together, helping them to understand and work together. The two became a unit, traveling, exploring, and competing together. As they grew together, Grant slowly became integrated into Caroline's family, working to become a father-figure for Caroline's two children, Anghus and Amia.
