After a fun weekend spent with our friends in Tuscaloosa Younglife at SharpTop Cove, located in Jasper, GA, Sam & I met in the game room as we waited for the buses to arrive and take us back home. I had challenged friends to play air hockey and was on an impressive winning streak-- notably beating at least 4 guys in a row. Sam noticed my triumphs from across the room and decided it was his turn. After a neck & neck game, Sam beat me! After some equal jesting (& flirting) as we continued to play, we formally met as the buses arrived to head back home. It wasn't long into the bus ride that he added me on Snapchat (thanks to Lee Wicks) and so it began!

Grace Anne & I have been long-distance since the summer of 2019. Over the past few years, I have been working in San Antonio, TX. About an hour outside the city is some beautiful wine country in Fredricksburg. GA always mentioned she wanted to be just us when I proposed so I thought this would be a great weekend away. I made all the plans (which undoubtedly made her suspicious) & she came to visit. On Saturday, we went to Signor Vineyards & had a wine tasting. Once we were about finished with our wine, the photographer came up claiming she was hoping to take promotional pictures for the vineyard. We took a few photos then wandered into the vineyard where I dropped to one knee & popped the question! It was an awesome weekend we both had long-awaited.
