Flight
For those flying in from out of town (Chicago, St. Louis, etc.), the easiest way to get to Block Island is to fly into Providence and then either: - Take a taxi, Uber, or Lyft to the Block Island Ferry in Point Judith (roughly 40 min). If you choose to rent a car, parking by the ferry is $15/day. Point Judith Ferry info & schedules are linked below! - Take a taxi, Uber, or Lyft to New England Airlines (roughly 45 min). If you choose to rent a car, parking at Westerly State Airport is free. New England Airlines information is linked below!
Train
For those coming from NYC, DC, or Boston, Amtrak will provide you a few options of getting to Block Island: New London stop - the New London Ferry is directly across from the train. Westerly, RI stop - it is a short Uber/Lyft to New England Airlines. Kingston, RI stop - it is roughly a 30 minute Uber/Lyft to the Block Island Ferry. We recommend scheduling ride shares in advance!

The Block Island Ferry has both high-speed (30 min) and traditional ferries (1 hour) that run multiple times a day from Point Judith in Narragansett, RI directly to Old Harbor. Ferry schedules for both can be found in the link below.

The New London ferry is located directly across from the Amtrak Northeast Regional line, with paid parking available nearby as well. The travel time is roughly 1.5 hours and brings you to Old Harbor in the center of town on Block Island. For those traveling from NYC or DC areas, this is a recommended route.

New England Airlines flies from Westerly, RI to Block Island hourly and offers free parking at Westerly State Airport. The total trip time is 12 minutes, and it offers stunning views of the entire island. However, they only accommodate 8 people per flight, so keep this in mind if you have any fears of flying or very small planes.
