Love works in mysterious ways... Stephanie moved back to Rincon in the fall of 2018 after being away for more than 4 years. As someone who is very passionate about the ocean, she had always wanted to do the infamous Waterman Survival and Freediving class. Of course, initially, the class in December she wanted to do was sold out. But, the night before the class was scheduled to start and as her luck would have it, someone dropped out last minute and Steph was able to take that last spot. To say she was thrilled is an understatement. Meanwhile, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Micah was pacing his house trying to figure out how to tell Tony [responsible for all the media content for the class] he wouldn’t be able to make it. Tony and Micah had been friends for a while ever since they met through the spearfishing world and sort of instantly clicked and became close friends. When he called Tony on that Tuesday night prior to leaving, he tried to spill the bad news. In typical Tony fashion, Tony insisted that Micah had to come to this class and no other [thank you Tony!]. Micah hung up the phone half convinced that he was going to step on the flight the next day, but something pushed him through the plane doors and off to la isla d’encanta, where the future love of his life was awaiting his arrival… It’s still debated to this day whether it was truly, love at first sight, love at first breath, love at first swim in the ocean…but what can be agreed on is that Stephanie and Micah’s love grew super fast in a very short amount of time, kind-of similar to the Big Bang. Within the first hour of the first real private time they had together, Micah simply said…”You’re beautiful, smart, and just like, a really cool girl, but you’re also 30, not married, and don’t have any kids…so, what’s your deal?” Stephanie, being the upfront and not into playing games type she is, loved this bold and to the point question. And, as they say... the rest is history <3
