It was a late March evening when Kayla spontaneously sent a text to Sarah asking if she would like to meet her and her sister downtown off Rainey Street for a quick drink. Up until this point, only a few text messages had been sent back and forth, but both were eager to meet. Little did they know, it would blossom into a relationship with "future" written all over it. Sarah and Kayla enjoyed their first "Love Street" beer together at Lustre Pearl, chatting about each other's life experiences, local Austin hotspots, and found a connection over career-oriented goals stemming from deep conversations digging into the nuances of life. Funny thing is, the bulk of this very first conversation took place in Kayla's car in front of IHOP waiting for Kayla's sister and her friend to get done eating pancakes! The following Friday, Sarah asked Kayla if she'd like to go on a date at Cosmic Coffee on South Congress. The two sat at a picnic table and enjoyed a couple beers and tacos (so Austin-y of them), which then lead to venturing down SoCo to White Tiger for live music, and ended the night at Drinks Lounge a few hours later. The company of each other was just too great to end the night any earlier, and little did they know that this was the start of a real relationship. One where both would be valued, truly loved and encouraged to become the absolute best version of themselves. The two love birds enjoyed that next summer in Austin paddle boarding on Lady Bird Lake, trying new coffee shops such as Noble Joe, and taking the pups to Zilker Park on hot summer days. They soon realized that traveling was so enjoyable with one another after a first trip to New Mexico, visiting White Sands NP for the first time. The following Summer they took a spur-of-the-moment trip to Estes Park, Colorado where Sarah had secretly packed a few extra items, and also booked a long 4-hour horseback ride through the peaks and valleys of Rocky Mountain National Park. It was after that long ride where Sarah took a knee to ask Kayla the question she'd been waiting for, "Can you help me get up?" You see, Sarah had only rode a horse one other time, and it was a tame ride through farmland, unlike the past 4 hours of her life trekking through the wilderness. Sarah could hardly believe she lived through that ride after almost being thrown off a couple of times, and holding on for dear life while the horse wandered through the bushes and trees. But at last, Sarah did ask the proper question, "Will you marry me?" and Kayla excitedly and without a doubt replied, "Yes!" on June 12, 2023. While both are hard-working individuals in their daily work, they prioritize finding time to spend quality time with each other, building a strong foundation as they continue to intertwine their lives together. Kayla is fantastic at keeping a very detailed calendar of all events which keeps the couple on track, while Sarah actually enjoys doing house chores on Sunday evenings. Both are equally supportive of one another, and challenge each other to continually grow as individuals - always keeping love and grace at the center of their bond. Kayla and Sarah will be exchanging personally-written vows on April 5th, 2024 in a private ceremony in Austin, Texas, professionally documented through photography.
